The LRT is finally here. Eglinton West is one of, if not the, most up and coming neighbourhoods in Toronto. Here is what it is like to live here, what you can buy and what the numbers say.

Why we rate Eglinton West so highly
Line 5 Eglinton opened in February 2026, with stations at Mount Dennis, Keelesdale, Caledonia, Fairbank, Oakwood and Cedarvale. After years of construction, the stretch is finally getting the rapid transit it has waited for, and that is why we see it as one of, if not the, most up and coming neighbourhoods in the city.
What to do
- York Beltline Trail. A cool tip for runners and cyclists, following an old rail line from Caledonia east to Allen Road.
- Cedarvale Ravine. A long, green ravine walk at the east end of the area.
- Line 5 Eglinton. Ride the new LRT across the city.
The homes
Eglinton West is mostly detached and semi-detached brick houses, many on good-sized lots, with prices below many neighbourhoods to the south. With the LRT open, many homes are well placed for a rental unit, a garden suite or a future multiplex.
